How to find trustworthy tradies
I often hear people complaining about how difficult it is to find trustworthy tradespeople.
I offer a free checklist of what to look for when finding someone to service your needs.
Make sure you can find their:
ABN
Trade licence number/s
Address
Website
Social media
Reviews
What to look for with social media:
If a post says it has so many comments and you can't find any comments, even after selecting the "show all comments" option, the social media admin is probably deleting any comments that brings the service provider into question. Avoid.
What to look for with reviews:
Disregard the star rating - it means nothing.
A shonk operator will pay for bots to write fake reviews to boost the star rating back to an acceptable level.
Look for the negative reviews first, and see if they've been responded to accordingly.
If you intend on leaving a negative review with a service provider, make sure it is accurate / truthful and you've tried to sort out the problem with them before submitting a review.
